“What We Believe”
With a heart for God’s people and an emphasis on holistic living, Grove’s mission is “to meet the needs of people by spreading the Word of God, to make and equip disciples for holistic ministry.” To accomplish this we have created a strategic platform at Grove to serve God, our congregation and the community by embracing and committing to a three-prong approach to ministry. Upreach (worship), Inreach (edification) and Outreach (evangelism). Simply put, we look to God first and opportunities to worship and glorify Him (UPREACH). Secondly, within our congregation (INREACH) we seek to teach, minister to, reach and encourage each other through faith. And, lastly, in obedience to God, we take our ministry beyond the walls of the church (OUTREACH), to make disciples of Jesus.
At Grove, we have adopted the acronym F.I.R.E. to describe and convey our covenant with God and commitment to our members and community. Essentially, F.I.R.E. embodies the manner in which we go about our daily lives, interactions and ministry. Using F.I.R.E., we commit to the following:
...firmly adhere to the mission, covenants and vision for Grove, as we align ourselves with the plan of God and meet the needs of people.
...publicly and privately do the right thing, at the right time, and firmly adhere daily to the moral and ethical principles of our faith, such as honesty, fairness, trustworthiness, holiness and accountability--one to another--as we meet the needs of people.
...in the spirit of divine kinship, we choose to love, pray, forgive, appreciate, respect and protect each other in the Body of Christ and in ministry, as we meet the needs of people.
...model the Spirit of Jesus, the Christ, by meeting or exceeding expectations, that ultimately bring glory to God and edification to God's people, adjusting when needed and persevering for righteousness when challenged, in order to meet the needs of people.
Grove Church’s Statement of Faith
We believe in God, the Eternal Spirit, and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, and our Father, and to His mighty deeds, we testify:
He called the world into existence, created man in His own image and likeness, and sets before humanity the ways of life and death. He seeks, in unconditional love, to save all people from hopelessness and sin.
He is our Supreme Ruler that judges humanity and nations by His Righteous will, declared through prophets and apostles. After the sin and fall of Adam, God sent His Son, Jesus the Christ, born of a virgin, who obediently sacrificed His life as atonement for our sin. That three days after his death and burial, God most powerfully raised Jesus from the dead. That Satan is defeated. God bestows upon us His Holy Spirit to comfort, guide and empower us to fulfill our God-given purpose. All the gifts of the Holy Spirit are in operation today as signs of the Holy Spirit’s indwelling. The Bible in totality is God’s written and inspired word, recorded by man. He calls us to be His church, to accept the cost and joy of discipleship, to be His servants in the service of humanity, to proclaim the gospel to all the world and to boldly resist the powers of evil, to share in Christ’s baptism, eat at His table, and to join Him in His suffering and His victory.
God has given gifts to the church in the form of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, and for the edifying of the body of Christ.
He promises to all who trust Him forgiveness of sins and fullness of grace, courage in the struggle for justice and peace, His never failing presence and eternal life in His Kingdom, which has no end.
That God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are three persons in one. They compose the triune God-head.
Blessing and honor, glory and power be unto Him.
